Las Cruces Armed Robbery

Las Cruces – Las Cruces Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred after a fender bender in the parking lot of a local credit union.

At around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, Las Cruces Police were called to a report of an armed robbery in the parking lot of the First Light Federal Credit Union at 3791 E. Lohman Ave.

LCPD detectives learned that the victim was in a vehicle and leaving the bank's parking lot when he got into a minor fender bender with a gold Kia sedan. The driver of the Kia exited his vehicle and started an argument with the victim. The Kia's driver then returned to his car, retrieved a handgun and pointed it at the victim while demanding money.

No injuries were reported.

The Kia believed to be involved in this incident has been located but its driver is still outstanding.
