Las Cruces Arroyo Management Plan Public Meeting Set For Next Week

The City of Las Cruces Community Development Department will hold a public input meeting to discuss the draft of the City’s Arroyo Management Plan at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 23 in the Commons area at the Dona Ana Community College East Mesa Campus, 2800 Sonoma Ranch Blvd.

The Arroyo Management Plan provides policy guidance to improve systematic flood control and drainage functions; allow continuance of historic flows in arroyos; protect arroyos in their natural state; protect native vegetation and wildlife habitat; and accommodate and protect essential utility installation and maintenance.  Property owners with land in or adjacent to arroyos within ETZ may be impacted by the plan in the future.

The draft plan is available for review in advance of the meeting at

las-cruces.org/protectarroyos. Individuals who are unable to attend the meeting may submit their comments in writing to Carol McCall at cmccall@las-cruces.org by Friday, August 1, 2014.

People with disabilities who need special accommodations to fully participate in this meeting may call the Las Cruces Community Development Department at least 48 hours in advance at 575/528-3043
