Las Cruces Coffee with a Cop Day is Oct. 7

The Las Cruces Police Department is celebrating National ‘Coffee with a Cop’ Day on Oct. 7 and invites local residents to drop by for conversation and a cup of joe.

Coffee with a Cop will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at the IHOP Restaurant at 351 E. University Ave. City residents are invited to stop by for a free cup of coffee and visit with a Las Cruces Police officer.

“We invite fellow Las Crucens to come out for a free cup of coffee and share their concerns for a safer community,” said Las Cruces Police Chief Jaime Montoya. “Several of our officers and command staff will be available to meet with our neighbors and we’ll be prepared to discuss any police matter they may have.”

Coffee with a Cop Day is part of the Oct. 3-7 National Community Police Week. Law enforcement agencies throughout the nation are participating in Coffee with a Cop Day which is sponsored by local restaurants and the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office).
