LAS CRUCES, NM - Superheroes and villains alike will arrive in Las Cruces on September 11-13, 2015 for the second annual Las Cruces Comic Con (LC3). The event is organized by Zia Comics and will be held at the Las Cruces Convention Center, located at 680 E. University Ave.
This year's lineup includes actor David Zayas, best known for his role as Angel Batista on the Golden Globe nominated drama "Dexter"; actor and wrestler Tommy "Tiny" Lister, who has worked on over 171 films, including The Fifth Element; Wendy Schaal, who is best known as the voice of "Francine Smith" in the adult animated series "American Dad"; comic book artist Jae Lee; Hollywood voice genius Kerrigan Mahan; character actress Barbara Goodson, who created the raucous voice of Empress Rita Repulsa on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers; terminator actor Frank Powers and cosplayers Ginny DiGuiseppi and Kat Ashley.
Also in attendance will be Colorado based costume company Far Away Creations, cosplay outfits designers Garage FX, elite costuming organization Mandalorian Mercs Costume Club (MMCC), El Paso Ghostbusters and The Legion, an organization dedicated to promote Star Wars. In addition the event will feature a Comic Strip Burlesque and a Costume Contest.
Las Cruces Comic Con is a pop-culture fan convention that showcases artists and products from entertainment genres like: Sci-fi, Horror, Anime, Gaming in all its forms and comic books. It features a large array of exhibits by several companies demonstrating their wares and vehicles or set pieces from film or television on display, a shopping experience like no other aimed at fans that are looking for games, T-shirts, comics, toys, statues, DVDs/Blu-rays, replicas and more collector items.
Fans are encouraged (but not obliged) to come dressed as their favorite pop culture characters from movies, TV, video games or comics.
Advance tickets are already available at lascrucescomiccon.org, including a $10 Friday pass, $25 Saturday pass, $20 Sunday pass, and a special three-day ticket for only $35.
