The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department will make community gardenplots available to the public for summer planting starting March 1. If you have ever wanted to grow your own vegetables and flowers, here is your opportunity!
Registration will be Feb.16, at the Parks and Recreation Department office, 1501 E. Hadley Ave. and will be open until all plots are leased. The cost to lease a garden plot from March 1 through Nov. 30 is $15. Plots will be available at the following gardens: Las Esperanzas Community Garden, 341 E. Picacho Ave, Tony Gomez Community Garden, 2250 S. Espina St. and Sage Community Garden, 6121 Reynolds Dr.
Only one space per person may be leased and spaces are limited and made available on a first-come, first-served basis.
