A two-vehicle crash on Highway 70 temporarily closed eastbound traffic between the Interstate 25 interchange and Rinconada Boulevard in the early afternoon hours Friday.
The traffic crash occurred at around noon when it appears a vehicle exited I-25 and was crossing the eastbound lanes of Highway 70 and was struck broadside by a vehicle heading eastbound. An occupant from one of the vehicles has been airlifted to University Medical Center of El Paso. The condition of that motorist is not known at this time.
All eastbound lanes of Highway 70, from I-25, were closed while traffic investigators work at the scene of the crash. Westbound lanes of Highway 70 were open but traffic was moving slowly. The I-25 off-ramp heading westbound onto Highway 70 or toward north Main Street was closed.
