Las Cruces To Discuss Long-Range Transit Plan

By KRWG News

Las Cruces – The City of Las Cruces and Las Cruces Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) are hosting an open house on Tuesday, April 19th at 3:30 p.m. inside city hall room 2007, 700 N. Main Street, to seek comment from the public regarding transit in Las Cruces.

Staff from the City and project consultants, HDR Engineering and Parametrix, will be on hand to present existing conditions and available transit technologies, answer questions, and take public comments. The City and MPO recently began a process to develop a Long Range Transit Plan for the Las Cruces area. Public input will be used in the development of the plan. Key issues to be addressed include:

Planning for a multimodal system that equitably moves people efficiently and cost effectively

Planning for the full range of travel needs and the diversity of users of our transportation system

Potential routes that provide for greater coordination between transportation and land use

Transit infrastructure that will serve the area through the year 2040
