Las Cruces Educator Appointed To Game Commission

A Las Cruces school administrator has been named to the State Game Commission by Gov. Susana Martinez.

Ralph Ramos fills a vacancy created by the death earlier this year of Commission Chairman Jim McClintic of Albuquerque.

Ramos is a middle school principal in Las Cruces and serves as the quality control manager at F&A Dairy Products, which is a cheese manufacturer in the southern New Mexico community.

The governor's office announced Ramos' appointment last week and said he's been a bow hunter for 25 years.

Ramos holds master's and bachelor's degrees in agriculture and extension education from New Mexico State University.

The seven-member commission sets hunting and fishing policies and oversees the state Game and Fish Department.

McClintic died in February after a battle with cancer.
