Las Cruces To Get Its Own Comic Con

Jun 5, 2014

A new popular culture and comic convention, Las Cruces Comic Con, is being held at the Las Cruces Convention Center on September 5 – September 7, 2014. Las Cruces Comic Con is inviting fans to come enjoy the world of comic books, cartoon art, video games, television and movie entertainment, science fiction, and internet culture.

Las Cruces Comic Con, founded by Zia Comics, says it is hosting nearly 25,000 square feet of celebrities, panels, workshops, and vendors in the Las Cruces Convention Center in Las Cruces, NM.

Las Cruces Comic Con says it will focus on providing a welcoming and fun environment for fans, publishers, artists, celebrities, and popular internet stars and broadcasters. “Pop culture today is cross genre and wide reaching” said Troy Stegner, Convention Director. “Years ago comic conventions only appealed to a small subset of the population.  Today people are embracing their inner nerd and enjoying events such as this where their favorite actors, performers, and fan merchandise are available for them.”

Celebrities and artists booked for the convention will be released to the public over the next several weeks.  “We see an opportunity to bring the large pop culture convention style to Las Cruces with our own spin on things. Las Cruces is a great market and there is plenty of room for growth,” said Stegner. “Our convention can thrive in this space and we look forward to helping grow the Las Cruces nerd and geek culture.”
