Las Cruces Gets Housing Grant

By KRWG News

Las Cruces – Congressman Harry Teague announced that the Las Cruces Housing Authority has been awarded a grant for $338,895. The funding, allocated by the Department of Housing and Urban Development through the 2010 Capital Fund Program, can be put towards capital and management projects, including modernization and development of public housing.

"New construction and modernization projects not only provide homes for families, but they also create important jobs in the community. I'm pleased to see this important investment made in southern New Mexico," said Harry Teague.

The Capital Fund program provides funds annually to approximately 3,200 public housing agencies (PHAs) across the country. PHAs may use Capital Fund grants for development, financing, modernization, and management improvements.
