Las Cruces Home-Invasion Robbery Suspects Sought

Las Cruces Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the two men suspected of a home-invasion robbery that occurred early this morning.

Shortly after midnight on Thursday, Sept. 8, police were dispatched to the report of a possible robbery with shots fired on the 1600 block of Gladys Drive. Officers learned that two masked and armed men entered an apartment through a window, and overpowered one of the four occupants of the residence.

Detectives learned that one of the armed men struck the resident, a 21-year-old man, with the butt of a handgun at which time the handgun discharged one round. The intruders demanded money from the victims before they fled out the front door of the apartment.

A neighbor witnessed the two men fleeing from the apartment and briefly gave chase before one of the suspects allegedly discharged a handgun in his direction. Nobody was struck by gunfire and no major injuries were reported.

Both suspects were said to be Hispanic, one with long hair and the other with short hair. They were both said to be concealing their faces with masks. They were last seen headed north on Gladys toward Montana Avenue.

Anyone with information on this incident, or the identities of the two suspects, is asked to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or send a tip by text message to CRIMES (274637), keyword LCTIPS.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that helps identify the suspects. The Crime Stoppers number and text messaging services are operational 24 hours a day and you do not have to give your name to collect a reward.
