Las Cruces – The New Mexico Supreme Court has suspended Las Cruces Municipal Judge James T. Locatelli without pay.
The state Judicial Standards Commission sought an immediate temporary suspension, which the high court granted last week.
The Las Cruces Sun-News says according to a court order, Locatelli cannot have any contact with two women or any other witnesses in a complaint before the commission. No other details are available.
The court noted in its order that any violation of its ruling could be grounds for contempt of court sanctions, including Locatelli's possible removal from office.
