A Las Cruces man was arrested early Thursday morning after he unlawfully entered a Mesquite home by breaking his way in with a hammer.
According to Doña Ana County Sheriff’s investigators, Jose Manuel Zubrian, 41, used a hammer to break a glass door of a home in the 1100 block of NM Highway 192.
The homeowner’s teenage daughter heard the commotion and found Zubrian halfway inside the house. She immediately notified her father, who then confronted Zubrian and asked him to leave.
Zubrian reportedly told the homeowner he wasn’t going to leave, and that he was “cold and thirsty.”
The daughter called 911 to alert sheriff’s deputies.
Zubrian was arrested and charged with breaking and entering. He’s being held without bond at the Doña Ana County Detention Center.
