At around 11 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, Las Cruces Police were dispatched to a domestic incident reported at 612 S. Espina St. Upon arrival, officers heard yelling and someone screaming inside the apartment. Soon after, a 27-year-old woman exited the apartment and spoke with officers.

The woman had noticeable bruising about her neck and face, and told officers that Aceves had punched her several times. Aceves was taken into custody a short while later.

Detectives learned that the couple had returned home from a barbeque and the 27-year-old woman began watching television. Detectives were told that a short while later, Aceves became upset with the woman and began punching her. Aceves is also accused of dragging the woman into a bathroom, kicking her and holding her in such a position that she temporary lost consciousness.
