Las Cruces – The Mayor's Top Teens, a program which recognizes deserving teens, is now accepting applications for 2011-2012.
Applications are available on www.las-cruces.org by clicking on the Mayor's Top Teens logo. You can either download the form or fill it out online. Applications are also available on the Mayor's Top Teens website at www.mayorstopteens.com, those can be filled out directly on the website.
Teens completing the 9th, 10th or 11th grades (not an 11th grade student graduating early) may be nominated. Eligible students must attend school, or be home-schooled in the city limits. Teachers, counselors, friends, clergy or family (not parents) may nominate students.
The program is looking for teens who meet at least one of the following criteria:
Someone who overcame a significant obstacle in their lives
Perform community service
Demonstrate scholastic achievement
Set a good example
Are positive role models
The deadline to nominate is Thursday, May 5th.
