Las Cruces Parolee Charged With Breaking Windows At Area Business

By KRWG News

Las Cruces – Las Cruces Police arrested a man who was spotted by an off-duty officer breaking out the windows to an area tattoo shop.

Conrad Salazar, 39, is charged with one count each of criminal damage to property and violating terms of his parole.

At around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, an off-duty Las Cruces Police officer was on Solano Drive when he spotted Salazar driving a motorcycle with a baseball bat partially concealed in his jacket. The officer parked his vehicle and watched as Salazar got off his motorcycle and used the bat to break the windows to Sam's Tattoo Parlor at 600 S. Solano Dr.

The damages to the tattoo shop were estimated at $1,673.

Salazar was arrested Friday evening on a warrant. Because he violated terms of his parole, Salazar is being held without bond at the Dona Ana County Detention Center.
