Las Cruces Plate Arrives

By KRWG News

Las Cruces – The wait is over for Las Cruces residents.

They can now get a new license plate featuring a sunrise over the Organ Mountains.

State Taxation and Revenue Secretary Rick Homans says the plate is a great opportunity to showcase a beautiful city with a storied history.

The Las Cruces plate marks the first time the Motor Vehicle Division has issued a license plate named for a city.

In February, the Las Cruces City Council approved its design, which features both the Organ Mountains and the city's three crosses logo.

The plate will be issued at MVD offices and private contractors in the Las Cruces area. The plates will only be issued to Las Cruces residents.

Each plate will cost $37, with $25 going toward the city's recreation fund.
