Las Cruces Police Arrest Two Teens Accused Of Assaulting And Robbing Pizza Delivery Driver

Las Cruces – Las Cruces Police have arrested two teenagers who physically assaulted and robbed a pizza delivery man late Sunday evening.

Dwayne Alberto Flores, 19, and Christopher Orozco, 15, are both charged with one count each of armed robbery and conspiracy. Additional charges against the two are pending.

Shortly before midnight on Sunday, July 24, Las Cruces Police were called to 724 E. Picacho Ave. where two assailants assaulted a Papa John's Pizza delivery driver and stole $18 from him.

Police learned that the delivery driver was struck on the back of his head with brass knuckles and repeatedly kicked while he was on the ground. He drove himself to a local hospital for evaluation though his injuries were relatively minor.

Las Cruces Police officers located Flores and Orozco at 730 E. Picacho Ave. and they were positively identified as the suspects who committed the crime.

Flores is being held on a $35,000 bond at the Dona Ana County Detention Center. Orozco is being held without bond at the juvenile facility.
