Las Cruces Police Charge Teens In Burglary

Las Cruces Police arrested two teenagers suspected of breaking into and burglarizing a tobacco and tattoo supply store early Saturday morning.

Jesus Martinez, 15, and Hector Lopez, 16, are each charged with one count of non-residential burglary, conspiracy and possession of burglary tools.

At around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, May 25, Las Cruces Police were called to a report of a burglary in progress at The Sick West, 1101 W. Picacho Ave. The first arriving officer saw two teenagers, later identified as Martinez and Lopez, burglarizing the business.

The officer detained both teenagers and later determined that they used a knife, shovel and other tools to gain entry into the business.

Martinez and Lopez were booked without bond into the juvenile section of the Dona Ana County Detention Center.
