Las Cruces Police Nab Suspected Serial Auto Burglary Suspect

A Las Cruces man has been linked to at least 10 counts of auto burglary for crimes believed to be committed in parking lots along the Telshor-Lohman business district.

Adrian Pasbakhsh, 30, is charged with one count of burglary of a vehicle, a fourth-degree felony count. Detectives have reason to believe he may be responsible for at least nine other auto burglaries committed between Dec. 1 and Dec. 10.

Detectives learned that Pasbakhsh drove a white 1988 Mercedes and cruised from parking lot to parking lot, stopping occasionally to look into vehicles for valuables. If he saw valuables visible inside a vehicle, he would use a rock to break a window and then steal items.

Some of the items Pasbakhsh is believed to have stolen include purses, wallets, credit cards, computers, electronics, backpacks and duffle bags.

Pasbakhsh was caught Dec. 10 after a Las Cruces Police officer witnessed him breaking into a vehicle in the Wing Daddy’s parking lot. He was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center but has since been released on bond.

The Las Cruces Police Department reminds motorists to remove all valuables from vehicles or conceal them in such a way that they are not visible from outside. Motorists should also remember to roll windows up and lock all doors when leaving a vehicle parked.
