Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that helps identify the driver of a Jeep that caused a crash Tuesday evening on Telshor Boulevard.
Shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, a Ford Fusion and a Chrysler Town and Country van were southbound on Telshor near Hillrise Drive when a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, also southbound, approached at a high rate of speed. In an effort to avoid being rear-ended by the Jeep, the driver of the Ford quickly changed lanes and struck the van.
A passenger of the van was transported to Memorial Medical Center and then airlifted to University Medical Center of El Paso. Her injuries are not life-threatening. The drivers of the Chrysler van and Ford Fusion sustained relatively minor injuries.
Witnesses claim the Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling south on Telshor at an extremely high rate of speed – possibly more than 100 miles per hour.
Witnesses describe the Jeep as black or dark blue in color with a loud exhaust. There may be some damage to the front or passenger side of the Jeep.
