Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that helps identify the man suspected in Dec. 20 attempted armed robbery of a Valero store.
The suspect was captured on store surveillance cameras and is seen wearing a dark-color Carhart hoodie and dark pants.
Investigators learned he entered the Valero store, at 1305 El Paseo Rd., at about 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 20. The suspect lifted his shirt to reveal a handgun in his waistband and demanded money from the clerk. The clerk refused to comply and the suspect fled the store in an unknown direction.
The suspect is believed to be white, about 5-feet-10-inches tall with unkept facial hair.
Anyone with information that can help identify the suspect is asked to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Those who provide tips through Crime Stoppers do not have to give their own name and can remain completely anonymous to collect the reward.
The Crime Stoppers number is operational 24 hours a day.
