Las Cruces Police Seeking Men Loitering Near Elementary School

Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that helps identify two suspicious men who may be have tried to entice a young girl walking home from school.

Shortly after classes were dismissed for the day on Tuesday, Nov. 12, a student at University Hills Elementary noticed a small car stopped nearby with two men inside, one of whom appeared to be taking a picture of the girl as she walked home from school.

The girl walked away and later reported the incident to her parents who relayed the information to school officials. The elementary school student was frightened but not injured.

Las Cruces Police learned that the car was a small black four-door and it was occupied by two men. The driver was wearing a dark-colored hoodie and the passenger was wearing a blue shirt.

The driver of the vehicle appeared to use a cell phone to take the girl’s picture.

Anyone with information that can help identify the two men, or the vehicle they were seen in, is asked to contact Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or send a tip via text message to CRIMES (274637), keyword LCTIPS.
