Las Cruces Presents Draft Transit Plan Next Wednesday

Las Cruces – The City of Las Cruces and Las Cruces Metropolitan Planning Organization are hosting a public meeting to seek comment from the public regarding transit in Las Cruces.

Staff from the City of Las Cruces and project consultants, HDR Engineering and Parametrix, will be on hand to present the draft plan, discuss priority transit corridors and available transit technologies, answer questions, and take public comments.

The public meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 in Room 2150 of Las Cruces City Hall, located at 700 North Main. There will be a formal presentation at 5:30 p.m.

The City of Las Cruces and Las Cruces Metropolitan Planning Organization are working to develop the Long Range Transit Plan for the Las Cruces area. The plan will consider different modes of public transportation, transit infrastructure, and potential routes to serve the Las Cruces area through the year 2040.

Public input will help refine the plan and shape the future of transit in the community.
