Firefighters responded just after 11 p.m. Wednesday to a report of a building on fire on the 1200 block of West Picacho Avenue, a building used as a second-hand clothing store.  The first arriving unit reported fire and smoke coming from the roof and front of the building. Firefighters were able to contain the fire within 20 minutes.

There were no reports of injuries to civilians or firefighters. No one was in the building at the time of the fire. The fire is under investigation and no damage amount has been determined. One battalion, four engines, and two truck companies responded from the Las Cruces Fire Department. They were also assisted by the Las Cruces Police Department and American Medical Response.
