Las Cruces Seeks Stabbing Suspect

By KRWG News

Las Cruces – Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect in Saturday morning's fight at a local night club that resulted in two people being hospitalized with severe injuries.

At around 2 a.m. Saturday, July 30, Las Cruces Police were dispatched to Graham Central Station at 500 S. Main St. where a 21-year-old man was suffering from stab wounds to his abdomen and a 31-year-old woman was bleeding profusely from cuts to her left eye. Both victims were rushed to area hospitals.

Police learned that a man became riled with either the way the male victim was dancing, or who he was dancing with, and started a fight with the 21-year-old. The male victim was struck over the head with a beer bottle and stabbed multiple times in his abdomen with the broken glass.

Police learned that when the bottle broke over the male victim's head, flying shards of glass struck the 31-year-old woman's left eye. The woman was not involved in the fight and was merely a bystander.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male approximately 5-feet-10-inches tall. He was last seen wearing a blue plaid shirt and blue jeans. He is believed to have left the bar parking lot in a white Ford Explorer.

If you have any information on the identity of the suspect you are asked to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or send a tip via text message to LCTIPS (528477).

The Crime Stoppers number and text messaging services are operational 24 hours a day and you do not have to give your name to collect a reward.
