Las Cruces Starting Youth Mural Arts Program

The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department announces the start of a Mural Arts Program for local youth, grades 7– 12.  The program is currently seeking teens with artistic ability and a desire to transform their community.  Participants will become part of a skilled team capable of producing high quality public art.

The Mural Arts Program is open to all teens with all levels of artistic ability.  However, we highly encourage participants to have a willingness and desire to learn about large scale composition and advance their awareness of the visual language. Projects will be mostly outdoors with some indoor studio time.

Mural Arts Program registration begins August 8 with open enrollment throughout the year.  The program is divided into 9-week sessions and meets 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., every other Saturday beginning August 27. The program is currently limited to 15 participants per 9-week session. This is a teen program and there is no cost to participate.
