Las Cruces Utilities Expands Services in June, Including New East Mesa Center

Starting Friday, June 1st, the doors will be open for business at the new LCU East Mesa Customer Service Center, at 5195 Bataan Memorial West. This new service center will provide much closer access for approximately 10,000 LCU customers living on the city’s East Mesa, especially those previously served by Jornada Water and Mesa Development Center.

“At the new East Mesa Customer Service Center, LCU will provide all the utility services residents receive now at City Hall,” explains Jose F. Provencio, LCU business services administrator. “They will be able to set up new gas, water, wastewater, and solid waste service connections, pay bills, ask for billing assistance, and get account information.”

Then, starting the second week in June, those looking for LCU New Connections assistance - whether it’s for gas, water, or wastewater services - will go to the Customer Service office located on the first floor at City Hall at 700 N. Main Street.

“This creates a ‘One Stop Shop’ for our developers, contractors and individuals, providing easy access for those requiring new connections assistance,” explains Provencio. “No more running across town for visits to the LCU Joint Utilities Offices and then to City Hall; we are moving staff to accommodate our customers. Only if you have questions about engineering or design regarding a new connection, do you come to LCU Joint Utilities Offices at 680 Motel Blvd.”

You can reach Las Cruces Utilities at 528-3500 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Las Cruces Utilities provides GAS – WATER – WASTEWATER – SOLID WASTE services to approximately 100,000 Las Cruces area residents and businesses.
