Las Cruces – Police have arrested an 18-year-old woman who stabbed one woman with a pair of scissors and then struck another with a vehicle as she attempted to flee from a party Sunday morning.
Carey McNab, 18, of the 1200 block of Rusty Lane, is charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of tampering with evidence. She was transported to the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bond set at $30,000.
Shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31, Las Cruces Police were called to the 1000 block of Willow Street where an 18-year-old woman was suffering from two stab wounds and a 19-year-old woman had minor injuries after being struck by a car.
Police were told that McNab was asked to leave a party but started a physical confrontation with the 18-year-old. Detectives found out that McNab somehow armed herself with a pair of scissors and stabbed the woman twice. McNab then got into a car and, as she drove away, struck the 19-year-old woman causing relatively minor bruising to her hip and legs.
The victims were transported to a local hospital with wounds that did not appear to be life-threatening.
Police officers located McNab later Sunday morning at her boyfriend's residence.
