Las Cruces Youth Leadership Camp Registration Continues

  The Youth Leadership Summer Camp, a collaboration between the Las Cruces Police Department and the Stan Fulton Endowed Chair in Education at New Mexico State University, has expanded its enrollment criteria to youth between the ages of 12-15.

The Youth Leadership Summer Camp will be held 8 a.m. to noon June 1-12 at Lynn Middle School.

The camp will provide youth with CPR and First Aid training, teamwork building, D.A.R.E. and DWI simulations, anti-bullying and harassment lessons, and other activities similar to the Character Counts module.

Cost of the camp is $25 which includes breakfast and lunch each day. Participants are also provided with a camp T-shirt, water bottle and drawstring bag. The camp is limited to the first 60 registrants.

Parents or guardians can register youth between the ages of 12-15. Registration can be done between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the old City Hall building, 200 N. Church St. Parents or guardians should bring proof of the student’s age, the student’s T-shirt size and the $25 registration fee.

The Youth Leadership Summer Camp is limited to the first 60 registrants and registration is open through May 15.
