Loading Facility To Create 200 Jobs In New Mexico

A railroad construction and maintenance business is expanding with a new transloading facility in Albuquerque.

Gov. Susana Martinez took part in a groundbreaking ceremony Monday for New Mexico Transloading, an expansion of GandyDancer LLC. The company says it will create 200 jobs over the next several years. The initial 35 jobs will come in the first year, with an average annual salary of $84,000.

The facility in southeast Albuquerque will allow goods such as oil, propane, lumber, heavy equipment and steel to be shipped via rail lines.

Officials say it will be the largest and only multi-use transloading facility in New Mexico and serve as an alternative to trucking.
