Local Artists Featured In New Exhibit

By KRWG News

Las Cruces – A new fine art exhibition at the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum features the beautiful work of some of southwestern New Mexico's top artists.

"Skylines and Byways: Art from The City of Artists Promotional Association" opens in the museum's Arts Corridor on Aug. 13. An opening reception is planned for 7 p.m. on Aug. 19. The reception will include refreshments and is free to the public.

The City of Artists Promotional Association (CAPA) is proud to present Skylines and Byways, a display of art that reflects the strength and mystery of living in the Land of Enchantment. Those who travel through our magical state will see evidence of the many cultures that have used this land for farming, ranching, mining, religious ceremonies, and scientific advancement - affirming New Mexico as a land of creativity and achievement. City of Artists is dedicated to bringing awareness of the arts in Las Cruces and southern New Mexico for all to enjoy.

The show features 43 pieces, most of which are watercolor, oil and acrylic paintings. The exhibit also includes some photography, as well as sculptures. It will be featured in the gallery through Dec. 5.

The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for senior citizens, and $2 for children 4 to 17. For more information, please call (575) 522-4100.
