LOS LUNAS -The Village of Los Lunas will host the 2013 Rural Forum at University of New Mexico Valencia Campus from August 6 -8, 2013. UNM Valencia joins the Village, along with SBDC Valencia, the Los Lunas Chamber of Commerce and Huning LLLP as event sponsors and organizers.
"I am glad that our Department could be involved with a great event like the Rural Forum," said Economic Development Secretary Jon Barela. "The Rural Forum is a wonderful conference for Economic Development professionals to gather tools to build their community's economic successes."
"The goal of our planning team is to produce an outstanding event," said Christina Ainsworth, Community Development Director, Village of Los Lunas. "We've developed an outstanding program that provides knowledge, strategy, and tactics to inspire the state's economic development thought leaders to return home and start implementing action items immediately."
Ed Burghard, CEO of the Burghard Group and creator of Strengthening Brand America, will make the keynote address. Burghard will discuss The American Dream Composite Index™ (ADCI), which is a unique and robust measure of American sentiment that values the American Dream.
The Rural Forum offers nine working sessions with topics that include community branding, producing signature events, attracting Hollywood productions, collaborating with Native tribes, working with Veteran-owned businesses, historic preservation, alternative community funding, and health-care reform.
