Major Grant For Dona Ana County Education Initiative

The Institute for Community Engagement (IFCE) has received a three year $1.5 million grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation to support the alignment of regional organizations in a career initiative for educational success.  The Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico will serve as fiscal sponsor.

“We deeply appreciate the Kellogg Foundation’s support of our efforts to improve educational and life outcomes for the children and families of Southern New  Mexico,” said Monica Torres, IFCE Board President.

“We will work closely with area institutions and nonprofits already hard at work in this area,” she said, “aligning initiatives within a common agenda, shared measures and mutually reinforcing activities.  Parental and community engagement will be key to this effort.”

The IFCE is a Doña Ana County-based nonprofit that encourages positive systemic change through building communication among regional leaders, supporting emerging organizations, and aligning, within a collective impact model, already existing initiatives within the community.
