Las Cruces – The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) District One office along with FNF Construction has begun with the surveying, and marking of Interstate 25. This project will soon bring a change in traffic control for north and southbound motorists on I-25 between Lohman Ave and University Ave.

The NMDOT and FNF project schedule for the next couple of weeks will be as follows:

·         Week of February 9: Work will commence on the southbound lanes as traffic will continue to have two lanes open with 11 foot width restrictions, Width reduction will be placed as the work zone will be in close proximity to moving traffic.

Northbound traffic will be reduced to one lane with lane restrictions of 11 feet. Detour paving on I-25 will impact traffic accessing I-25/University Ave., and possibly I-25/Lohman Ave.

The I-25/Missouri Bridge project will consist of bridge reconstruction, and roadway realignments for Missouri Ave, Triviz Drive and Don Roser Drive. The cost of this project is $15.6 million and is expected to be completed by late March of 2016.

The NMDOT will be holding monthly Public Involvement Meetings, which will be held the last Wednesday of every month. The next scheduled meeting is Wednesday February 25, 2015 at the District One Complex located at 750 N. Solano in Las Cruces, NM.
