The 18-year-old son of a New Mexico lawmaker is being held on a $250,000 bond in connection with a deadly drive-by shooting and a second suspect has turned himself in to police.
Donovan Maez was arrested Friday on several charges, including an open count of murder, aggravated assault and conspiracy.
He's the son of Democratic Rep. Stephanie Maez of Albuquerque.
The teen is accused of firing shots from a vehicle at a home on June 26 and killing 17-year-old Jaydon Chavez-Silver.
Police believe the shooting may have been motivated by retaliation.
Maez reportedly was beaten up in a fight a month earlier at the house and a young man at the home allegedly owed Maez's friend $500 for drugs.
Albuquerque police say 21-year-old Christopher Cruz turned himself in Monday afternoon.
