By KRWG News

Las Cruces – Las Cruces Police arrested a man who broke into an area pharmacy and then attempted to hide in the closet of a neighboring home.

Marc J. Cordova, 19, of the 900 block of south Solano Drive, is charged with one count each of non-residential burglary; criminal trespassing; and resisting, evading or obstructing an officer.

Shortly before 7 a.m. on Sunday, May 30, Las Cruces Police were called to a report of a burglar alarm that was activated at the Family Pharmacy at 1205 S. Solano Dr. The approaching officer spotted a man, later identified as Cordova, inside the pharmacy.

Cordova ran from the pharmacy and then entered a nearby home where he attempted to hide from the officer in a closet. The homeowner, who was in the kitchen making a pot of coffee at the time, was surprised by the uninvited guest and alerted the officer to Cordova's hiding place.

The officer found Cordova in the closet.

Cordova was transported to the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bond set at $7,000.
