Man Convicted In 2011 Killing Of Albuquerque Resident

A Bernalillo County jury has convicted a man of second-degree murder in the 2011 killing of an Albuquerque resident.

Prosecutors say Jeff Moody also was found guilty Wednesday of tampering with evidence and conspiracy to commit tampering with evidence.

They say Moody could be facing up to a 30-year prison term when he's sentenced Nov. 4 including 12 years as habitual offender enhancement time.

Moody was 51 when he was arrested and accused of killing Anthony Todacheenie at the victim's home in May 2011.

He told Albuquerque police that Todacheenie was verbally abusive to his girlfriend and tried to hit her so he put him in a headlock.

Todacheenie freed himself, but Moody hit Todacheenie multiple times on the back of head with a weight and then cut his throat.
