Man Convicted In New Mexico Bus Stabbing

A man has been convicted on charges in connection with the stabbing of two people on a Greyhound bus bound near Bent in 2012.

A jury in Otero County found Jason Jimenez guilty Friday of two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Prosecutors say in June 2012, Jimenez stabbed a man 13 times and another passenger after an altercation on a bus traveling on U.S. Highway 70 bound for Ruidoso.

Jimenez allegedly left the scene but later turned himself in to Tularosa police.

Mario Torrez, Jimenez's defense attorney, had argued Jimenez acted in self-defense.
