Man Previously Seen As Threat To NMSU Campus Located Out Of State

NMSU

In an emergency notification message to the New Mexico State University campus Saturday, it was announced that Jonathan Havstad has been located out of state and is not perceived to be a threat to the N.M.S.U. campus. At this time, no other information has been provided regarding Havstad or his location.

On August 9, another notification warned the campus that Havstad could be a threat.

A press release that day stated: "Based on information received from another law enforcement agency, New Mexico State University Police are looking for Jonathan Havstad, a 34-year-old white male, 6 feet 1 inch tall and 215 pounds with blue eyes. He may be in a 2011 two-door red Scion with New Mexico license plate LRJ144. He is upset with NMSU and the NMSU police. He may be attempting to obtain a gun and has made statements that he was going to shoot people."

Now that Havstad has been located, KRWG will have more information as it becomes available.
