Man Stabbed and Robbed In Las Cruces

Las Cruces – Las Cruces Police are investigating an early-morning stabbing that sent a 26-year-old man to an El Paso hospital with multiple wounds.

At around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, July 1, officers were alerted to a man walking on Valley Drive with what appeared to be multiple stab wounds. Officers located the victim who appeared to have been beaten and stabbed several times.

Officers learned that the incident occurred at the Gospel Rescue Mission on west Amador Avenue and that the victim's wallet had been taken in the process. The victim was transported to University Medical Center of El Paso with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim was unsure if he was attacked by one or two assailants. The one suspect the victim remembered seeing was described as a man, possibly in his 50's, with a gray beard and thinning hair. He was wearing khaki pants, and a gray or greenish shirt.

Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect, or suspects, in this stabbing and robbery.
