Man Surrenders In Hospital Shooting

By KRWG News

Albuquerque – Authorities say a man wanted for allegedly firing a shot inside University of New Mexico Hospital last week is in custody.

Bernalillo County Sheriff's deputies say 21-year-old Cesar Dominguez-Garcia surrendered without incident Saturday.

Police Dominguez was at the hospital with his girlfriend on Jan. 4 when he became upset, beat up his girlfriend, then fired a shot in the hallway.

No one was injured, but the hospital was locked down for about an hour while authorities searched for Dominguez.

Surveillance video showed him leaving the building after the shooting.

KOB-TV reports Dominguez told his family he was acting in self defense when he fired the shot inside the hospital.
