Man Wanted For Colorado Assault Arrested In Texas

By KRWG News

El Paso, Texas – LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KRWG) U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working the international crossing in El Paso, Texas, arrested a man wanted on an outstanding attempted first-degree murder arrest warrant from Colorado.

Border protection officials report 21-year-old Roy Pena of Denver entered the U.S. from Mexico Saturday as a pedestrian.

However, border officers conducting the inspection found Pena is wanted in Adams County, Colo., on a warrant issued Friday. Adams County district attorney spokeswoman Krista Flannigan says Pena faces attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault charges involving a 27-year-old man for an incident that happened Sept. 6.

Additional details were not immediately available.

Pena was turned over to the El Paso Police Department and booked into jail where he was being held without bond.
