Martinez Announces Nomination To NMSU Board Of Regents, Other Boards And Commissions

  Santa Fe — Today, Governor Susana Martinez announced a number of appointments and nominations.

Jerean Hutchinson of Las Cruces has been nominated for appointment to the New Mexico State University Board of Regents. An alumna of the University, Hutchinson is a business owner with decades of experience serving her community. She and her husband own and operate La Posta de Mesilla Restaurant. Hutchinson has served on the New Mexico State University College of Business Advisory Committee since 1999, and has served on Presidential and College of Business Dean Search Committees. Her community involvement has included the roles of President of the Las Cruces Catholic School, Director of Jardin de los Niños, President of Old Mesilla Association, and Member of the Board of Councilors for Citizens Bank. Hutchinson is a member of the Hispano Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce, and the New Mexico Restaurant Association. She was awarded the Governor’s New Mexico Distinguished Public Service Award in 2014. Hutchinson holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Systems Analysis from New Mexico State University and Master of Science in Information Management from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

Jennifer Miller of Farmington has been appointed to the Interstate Compact for Adult Offender Supervision. She is an administrator at the San Juan County Alternative Sentencing Division. Miller previously served as a supervisor at the New Mexico Adult Probation and Parole Division. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.

Lila Martinez of Las Cruces has been appointed to the State Rehabilitation Council for the Commission for the Blind. She is a diagnostician for Las Cruces Public Schools and has a daughter who is blind. Martinez holds a Master of Arts in Educational Diagnostics Specialization from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces.

Janice Lardner of Belen has been appointed to the Brain Injury Advisory Council. She is a caregiver to her daughter with a traumatic brain injury. She is also employed with AAA Estate Sales.

Georgetta Kwasniewski of Alamogordo has been appointed to the State Commission for Community Volunteerism. She is an adult drug court and pretrial service officer with the Twelfth Judicial District Court. She has been with the Court for nearly 20 years and has also served as a victim advocate. Kwasniewski holds a Bachelor of Arts in Community Health and Sociology from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces.

Jamie Rae Parker of Albuquerque has been appointed to the State Commission for Community Volunteerism. She is a student teacher, pursuing a Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces. Parker is active in Zeta Tau Alpha and other student organizations, where she participates in community service projects and other philanthropic activities.

Leroy Lovato of Bernalillo has been appointed to the Eastern Sandoval County Arroyo Flood Control Authority. Lovato is an appraiser at the Sandoval County Assessor’s Office. He has previously served on the Bernalillo Planning and Zoning Commission.

Elizabeth Ryan of Roswell has been appointed to the State Game Commission. She is a member of the Chaves County DWI Planning Council, and has previously served on the Environmental Improvement Board. Ryan is an associate attorney with Mark W. Taylor & Associates, P.C. Ryan holds a Juris Doctorate from the Texas Tech University School of Law in Lubbock, Texas.

Kent Carruthers of Clovis has been reappointed to the Hospital Equipment Loan Council. He is active in economic development and civic organizations such the Clovis Industrial Park Commission, the Clovis Economic Development Tax Advisory Board, and also serves as director of the Clovis Industrial Development Corporation, and is a past president of the Curry County United Way. Carruthers is president and chief executive officer at Citizens Bank in Clovis, and is a certified commercial lender. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado.

Greg Leyendecker of Albuquerque has been reappointed to the Hospital Equipment Loan Council. Leyendecker is president and chief executive officer at New Mexico Bank & Trust. He is a member of various boards and organizations in the Albuquerque area, including serving as treasurer of the Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Leyendecker holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance and Banking from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Anna K. Lewis of Santa Fe has been appointed to the Interior Design Board. She is president at Creative Interiors, Inc. and is a former president of the New Mexico chapter of the American Society for Interior Designers. Lewis holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Darren Soland of Gallup has been appointed to the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy Board. Soland is the chief of police of the Ramah Navajo Tribal Police Department. Prior to serving as chief of police, he had a long and diverse career with the New Mexico State Police. Soland holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls in River Falls, Wisconsin.

Wesley Waller of Clovis has been appointed to the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy Board. Waller is the Curry County sheriff. He has a diverse background in law enforcement, having previously served as Curry County undersheriff, as well as more than 20 years of service with the New Mexico State Police. Waller holds an Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice from Clovis Community College.

Susan Andrews of Albuquerque has been appointed to the Massage Therapy Board. Andrews works as an attorney at her private practice where she focuses on medical malpractice. She is a member of the Medical Review Committee of the New Mexico Bar Association. Andrews holds a Juris Doctorate from Brigham Young University Law School in Provo, Utah.

Dr. Jeremiah Kelly of Albuquerque has been appointed to the Board of Nursing Home Administrators. Kelly is a retired physician who specialized in geriatrics for much of his career. Kelly holds a Doctor of Medicine from Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois.

Cathleen Wingert of Santa Fe has been appointed to the Board of Pharmacy. Wingert retired from AT&T in 1998 and moved to New Mexico in 2003. Wingert holds a Master of Business Administration in Business and Telecommunications from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, California.

Christopher Vigil of Santa Fe has been appointed to the Real Estate Appraisers Board. Vigil is a real estate appraiser at his company, CJ Vigil & Associates. Vigil holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Political Science from New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas.
