Gov. Susana Martinez cancelled a speaking engagement in Las Cruces because her father is ill. Martinez was set to speak at a Thursday luncheon hosted by the Las Cruces Business Network and the National Federation of Independent Businesses.
Event organizer George Pintar says the governor had to back out because of her father's illness.
Martinez was expected to speak about small business issues and her economic priorities for the 2013 legislative session.
