Martinez On The Fundraising Trail...And Visiting Mitt

Office of the Governor

New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez is making a quick trip to Utah to raise money for her re-election and to attend a summit organized by former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

Campaign spokesman Chris Sanchez said the governor traveled Friday to Park City, Utah for the fundraiser and summit. She is scheduled to return to New Mexico Friday evening.

Sanchez said the governor's re-election campaign will pay for travel expenses.

Romney spoke Friday at the start of his annual ideas summit. A number of potential 2016 GOP presidential candidates also are expected to speak at the event, including New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who is chairman of the Republican Governors Association and campaigned for Martinez last month in New Mexico.

Martinez faces Democrat Gary King in the November general election.
