SANTA FE, N.M. – Martinez reported spending $2.1 million, with three-fourths of that for broadcast advertising. Denish had expenditures of $1.6 million, with nearly two-thirds for advertising.
Martinez raised nearly $1.1 million. That included $50,000 each from the Republican Governors' Association and Larry Mizel, a Denver, Colo. developer.
Denish collected contributions of $871,000, with at least half coming from labor unions. The Service Employees International Union gave $215,000 and the American Federation of State, County and Muncipal Employees contributed $100,000.
Martinez had cash-on-hand of almost $302,000 a week before the election and Denish had a balance of $221,400.
