New Mexico – New Mexico Gov.-elect Susana Martinez plans an outdoor inauguration Jan. 1 on the Santa Fe Plaza.
Her inaugural committee on Thursday released a preliminary schedule of activities for the day.
Martinez's public swearing-in ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. Jan. 1 on the plaza.
Governors are sworn first thing Jan. 1, then hold a public swearing-in ceremony later in the day.
The public swearing in will be followed by a reception, open to the public, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Fine Arts Museum.
Martinez's "Bold Inaugural Ball" will begin at 8 p.m. at the Sweeney Convention Center in the capital city.
More than 2,000 people from all over New Mexico are expected at the invitation-only event.
