New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez is raising money in California for her political committees.
Political adviser Jay McCleskey said Tuesday the governor is attending private fundraisers in the Los Angeles area for her re-election committee and her political action committee, which is called Susana PAC.
The Republican governor is using the PAC to make contributions in this year's legislative races. The PAC has raised nearly $976,000 since it was established last year.
Martinez was elected in 2010 to a four-year term.
Martinez is scheduled to return to New Mexico on Wednesday afternoon.
McCleskey said the governor's political committees are paying for the trip.
