ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The head of Martinez's transition team, Heather Wilson, sent a letter Wednesday urging the Richardson administration to suspend any pending job transfers of appointees into so-called classified jobs.
The letter reiterated a request that Wilson said she made shortly after the general election.
Wilson told Richardson Chief of Staff Brian Condit in the letter that any transferred appointees will be fired when Martinez takes office Jan. 1 unless the administration has consulted with the Martinez transition team about the need for the job change.
